Introducing Spencer BeatBox Spencer Polanco is a human beatboxer - vocal percussionist from Manhattan, New York who has been producing vocal percussion for the past 5 years. He competed in the 2011 American Beatbox Championships, ranked as 17th greatest in the US, but he isn't stopping there. Spencer takes beatboxing beyond traditional hip-hop influences and into many different types of contemporary music (including, but not limited to house, spanish, dubstep, electronic, and drum and bass). He has worked with NYU students in the Clive Davis Studio of Recorded Music sampling beats and has worked alongside University of Rochester's A cappella group, The Midnight Ramblers, auditioning for "Sing Off" on NBC. He has performed at various music venues such as The Knitting Factory Brooklyn, NOVA Brooklyn, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, 5 Pointz, Wesleyan University, SUNY Purchase College, Rockland Community College. Spencer has supported such notable music artists such as Doug ! E. Fresh, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Phil Ade, E.Ok's, Bob Deitch and Children Of The Night. With his array of unique stylistic blends and blazing-varied beats, Spencer hopes to expose a new generation of fans to this extraordinary musical art form.
